OnTheMarket.com Launch 26th January 2015
A new portal is launching in 2015 called OnTheMarket.com. Not heard of them? You are one of the few. There has been much talk about this new portal which launches on 26th January 2015.
Will this portal be a new force to compete with major portals like Rightmove, Zoopla and Primelocation? Who knows, time will tell. The new portal is creating lots of chat on the internet and social media sites about whether it is a good thing or not. Especially with one of its main terms and condition - agents listed on OnTheMarket.com can only list on one other "competing" portal. There appears to be no definitive list of what is classed as a "competing" portal.
The new portals claims these 10 reason they are the company to advertise through.
- 100% agent-owned and agent-controlled
- Each firm has an equal interest and voting right, irrespective of firm size
- Open only to full-service, office-based estate and lettings agents
- Over 1,900 firms with over 4,000 offices - many national firms, but about 80% have between one and three offices
- Opportunity to fix listing fees for 5 years at a very low level
- Planned to reach the scale of Rightmove and Zoopla but to be charged to agents at cost
- A focused property search service from an experienced team
- Over £8M development funds provided by members
- Launching 26 January 2015 - so time to prepare
- The only portal to be endorsed by both NAEA and ARLA.
